This supplement is 100mg of Co-enzyme Q10 in Ubiquinone form.

The advice is to take 1 capsule per day with or without food. It comes in packs of 30, providing 1 month’s supply each pack.

Coconut oil, Tapioca extract*, Co-enzyme Q10, Black pepper extract (piper nigrum root). Capsule (Vegetable cellulose). *Non-GMO plant extract used to turn oil into powder. 1 capsule provides on average: Coconut oil: 180mg Co-enzyme Q10: 100mg Black pepper extract standardised to 95% piperine: 5mg

It’s free from gluten, soya, added sugars, dairy and GM ingredients. It’s also certified vegan and cruelty free, is pesticide-free, with no artificial additives or processing aids. The base contains coconut oil and piperine in order to improve absorption. The main ingredients are sourced from a natural fermented bacteria. It is third part batch tested for heavy metals, microbes and pathogens.

Coenzyme Q10, also known as CoQ10, is a vital compound naturally produced in the body, playing a crucial role in producing energy for cell growth and maintenance. It functions as an antioxidant, protecting cells from damage caused by harmful molecules and supporting overall cellular health.

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) supplementation has been studied for its potential benefits in managing several chronic conditions, including:

  1. Cardiovascular diseases: CoQ10 may help in managing conditions such as heart failure, high blood pressure, and coronary artery disease by supporting heart health, improving endothelial function, and reducing oxidative stress.

Other Considerations

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) exists in two main forms: ubiquinone and ubiquinol. People might find one form more beneficial than another, so it’s worth trying both forms for this reason.

Ubiquinol is the reduced, active form of CoQ10, and is particularly efficient at neutralizing harmful free radicals, supporting various physiological functions, and promoting overall cellular health.

Ubiquinone is the oxidized form of CoQ10 which plays a crucial role in the electron transport chain within mitochondria, the energy powerhouse of cells. It serves as an electron carrier, shuttling electrons between various protein complexes in the mitochondrial membrane, ultimately contributing to the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the cell’s primary energy source.

This supplement’s form is ubiquinone which is less expensive and more extensively studied than ubiquinol. The body can convert ubiquinone to ubiquinol as needed, suggesting that ubiquinone may offer flexibility in meeting the body’s CoQ10 needs. It also tends to be more stable for supplement formulations, and even though ubiquinol is touted as being bioavailable than ubiquinone, certain formulations of ubiquinone have been shown to have comparable absorption rates.

CoQ10 is commonly advised for people who have fatigue causing conditions, such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, where mitochondrial dysfunction is theorized as a contributing factor towards the symptom of fatigue.

Reports by patients tend to be mixed, between those who find CoQ10 very beneficial and those who find it does nothing to improve their fatigue. It’s at least something you should consider trying as it’s not expensive and benefits could be evident within a month.

Summary

This is a very useful supplement to try if you have a condition interfering with ATP production or want to improve your overall cellular health. It’s also good value for money and isn’t unpleasant. Realistically you should be able to tell if you’re improving within 4-8 weeks of trying this supplement, although small improvements might be hard to notice.
