CBD

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a natural compound found in cannabis plants, known for its potential therapeutic effects. It interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system to potentially alleviate pain, reduce anxiety, and promote relaxation without causing intoxication.

CBD derived from hemp and CBD derived from cannabis are essentially the same compound, cannabidiol. The primary difference lies in the source of the CBD. Hemp-derived CBD comes from the hemp plant, which is a variety of the cannabis plant containing very low levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive compound in cannabis. On the other hand, CBD derived from cannabis typically comes from marijuana plants, which can have higher levels of THC. This means that while both sources offer CBD, hemp-derived CBD products are legally required to contain less than 0.3% THC, whereas cannabis-derived CBD may contain higher levels of THC, potentially resulting in psychoactive effects.

CBD has been considered as being a possible treatment for the following issues :

  • Chronic pain management
  • Anxiety and stress relief
  • Epilepsy and seizure disorders
  • Sleep disturbances and insomnia
  • Inflammation reduction
  • Symptoms associated with multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Nausea and vomiting relief, particularly in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy
  • Potential support for mental health conditions like depression and PTSD
  • Neuroprotective properties for conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease

While CBD shows promise in alleviating certain conditions such as epilepsy and chronic pain, its overall benefits may have been overstated in some cases. More research is needed to fully understand its effectiveness and potential risks for various health conditions.

My Experience

I tried this CBD oil for 6 months, and whilst the taste is indeed quite bitter, you can get used to it.

It didn’t help me with pain management but then even prescription opiates don’t help my pain management much, so I didn’t have high expectations in that department. It also didn’t help my insomnia, but my insomnia is mainly the result of pain and tinnitus and not anxiety.

I did find some noticeable benefits towards anxiety and nausea relief though.

However the main downside of this supplement is that it’s relatively expensive, there’s about 200 drops in each bottle, so if you take the recommended dosage, it will last between 1-3 months.

It’s hard to be sure if the benefits were placebo based, but there are some promising studies for CBD for anxiety, so my inclination is that whilst there has been a lot of hype about its benefits, it isn’t completely unfounded at least.

Summary

A good supplement for anxiety and possibly other issues, and I felt reassured by CBDiablo that the product is high quality. The only downside is the price is a little expensive if you were going to take the full dose every month.
